Interviewed in the new issue of PlayStation Official Magazine, Crystal Dynamics’ Shaun Escayg revealed that the development team had planned to receive criticism for Marvel’s Avengers, inevitable given the caliber of the license and the characters involved.
Shaun Escayg is working on the script for the Avengers game and in recent months his work has been subjected to some rather negative criticisms: ” We were aware of it, let’s talk about Marvel, a company with more than 80 years of history behind it. the same happened with the first films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we are facing the same situation already experienced by the studios over ten years ago when they launched Iron Man and Hulk. I personally tried to work to improve the aspects related to the plot and provide each character with a credible background and a reason to fight together with the other Avengers. “
At the beginning of the week, Square Enix has postponed Marvel’s Avengers, the game will not be released in May as initially expected but will arrive in September, to allow the development team to improve some aspects of the project. To date, the Avengers game remains confirmed for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia, with no mention of any versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
