Meghan’s lawsuit against British tabloids ruined her brand, according to an expert on the subject.

Meghan Markle’s legal battle with a British tabloid is ruining her brand, a brand and reputation management expert told the Express newspaper.

The Duchess lost the latest skirmish in her privacy lawsuit against a tabloid after the London High Court ruled that the newspaper could amend her case to include details from a recently published biography.

According to Eric Schiffer, in addition to ruining the Duchess’ job opportunities as a paid speaker or television producer in the UK, the case is having the opposite effect that Megan and Harry hoped to get.

The legal battle is seen as an attempt to curb media scrutiny and public attention.

Referring to the publication, the expert said: “Losing the skirmishes on the legal side does not necessarily hurt her as a speaker.”

“However, what he does has become another indicator of his very challenging, and combustible relationship with the press, which is not good for his brand.”

The expert further said: “The Sussexes’ goal, to try to curb negativity from the press, has only created a higher level of desire from the media to report.

Meghan is suing Associated Newspapers over articles from the Mail on Sunday last year that included parts of a handwritten letter she sent to her father, Thomas Markle, in 2018.

Before a trial that would begin next year, the Mail had requested permission to amend their case, arguing that the couple had cooperated with a biography about them, “Finding Freedom,” which was published in August.

Lawyers for the newspaper said it showed that Meghan intended to have some private details made public, including the content of the letter, as part of a media campaign to present it in a positive light.
