Playing the first The Witcher in VR might have seemed impossible until some time ago, but now it’s about to become a reality thanks to a modder. This is Patryk Loan, who is working on a version of the game, which currently supports Oculus, HTC and Windows Mixed Reality.
It must be said that this is not a mod of the original game, which continues to not support them, but of the work from scratch of Loan, who is carrying out a sort of remake of the game using the Unreal Engine 4 with VR support.
At the moment the project only supports the Kaer Morhen map, so players can walk and explore the iconic castle in virtual reality, but the combat mechanics are missing and there will be no enemies inside the building.
The developer, however, plans to add more maps from the first game through future updates and to make everything playable in the true sense of the term sooner or later.
In the meantime, if you want to take a look, we refer you to the site where you can download the project, and at the top of the news, you will find a demonstration video. What do you think?
Still, on The Witcher, patch 3.6 of The Witcher 3 was released in Korea: the CD Projekt RED masterpiece is currently among the discounted games on the PlayStation Store.
