In an attempt to increase the spread of Google Stadia, the Mountain View giant has signed an important agreement with BT, the largest telecommunications company in the United Kingdom, which will allow the latter to provide the gaming service in streaming completely free of charge to its customers.
Specifically, BT intends to make Google Stadia Premiere Edition available to all subscribers who have opted for the Superfast Broadband 2 (67 Mbps), Ultrafast Fiber 100 and Ultrafast Fiber 250 offers, at no additional cost. To obtain a 4K video stream, Google recommends a connection with at least 35 Mbps for download, therefore all three plans are suitable. This is the first agreement of this type signed in Europe, which will soon be publicized by BT with an adequate marketing campaign.
The news came just one day after Google’s declaration of intent, which by 2020 has promised the publication of at least 120 games, 10 of which will be exclusive and out by the first half of the year. 4K resolution for streaming games via a browser will also be implemented soon, the Assistant function will be improved, the number of non-Pixel devices supported will be expanded and support will be added to wireless functionality for Stadia controllers on the web. For the announcement of the free games in February, however, we will have to wait for the end of the month.
